Notes from the Stars 3/15-3/20
The final week of the final season, bringing the final lunation of the year
Sometimes we need a little help exorcising the ghosts.
This week, the last of the astrological year, the universe conspires to do just that.
That's not to say it will be easy. The aspects we see this week come with heavy karmic themes, forcing us to finally sort through some of the spiritual clutter that's kept us bogged down. No one likes to feel undeserving or sit in rejection, but just like ghosts, what you see upon closer examination is rarely as frightening as what it's become in your mind. Make sure you're working towards healing and not simply picking at scabs—it may be satisfying to rip off that rough patch, but consider the scar you'll leave behind.
On Friday we have our final lunation, just ahead of the Equinox.
The Full Moon in Virgo can be a bitter pill to swallow: emphasizing themes of isolation and health, it will absolutely show you where you've deprived yourself of greater potential in order to serve your social functions. Full Moons always arrive with a degree of tension as our inner and outer worlds separate dramatically to reveal how and where they're out of alignment but this one gets a boost from Pluto. As he nears the end of his time in Capricorn, we may be forced to reexamine some of the themes we've seen arise in the last 20 years. Capricorn rules authority and institutions and we've seen a lot of their dark side since Pluto's ingress in 2007. This transit has coincided with the Occupy Movement, Big Bank Bailouts, and deep revelations about the truth of our market system for those with eyes to see, and we're not done yet. Pluto will continue to travel through the last degrees until 2025, kicking off a host of outer-planetary ingresses that may or may not usher in a Brave New World. It's easy to look at all of this and fixate on the outside factors, to simply react out of survivalist instinct, but this Moon asks that you examine how you have personally been affected by these changes. Trust your own authority, even battle-worn and weary as you may feel right now.
This weekend brings the Equinox and with it, the New Year we've all been waiting for. I'll have much more on that with the Aries Season Forecast this weekend but for now, try to sort through any lingering resentments or blockages to growth as we enter the season of new growth.
If you haven’t already read it—or simply want a refresh—you may want to check out my article on Inanna Enthroned ahead of Friday’s Full Moon, especially if this week’s Lilith square is hitting you hard.
Additionally, my calendar is now booking for the last few slots before I take my maternity leave. If you’ve been on the fence about working with me personally, booking a card reading or an astrological consultation, now is definitely the time! Starting March 25th I’ll officially close down client work and begin my own descent towards the portal of birth. I will continue to write and record, but my one-on-one work will be on hold until the Solstice. As always, you’re more than welcome to reach out to me here in the comments with any questions or suggestions for future articles, or to simply share your experience with a topic we’ve explored together. I’ll be sharing a lot more of my personal experience both here and on the Life, Magically blog and sublist.
